HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I wanted to share some cards I made a while ago for Thanksgiving for my Mama and my MIL.  Now that things are super busy ('tis the season), and I know neither of them will check out the blog in the next day, I wanted to finally post these cards I made.  A wooden heart-shaped button, some rafia, vintage typewriter stickers, a leaf punch, a corner punch, and some embroidary floss... and it's done!

Wishing all my online friends a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU & YOURS!

Enjoy the holiday!

Happy Birthday

I had a fun time making this card...  I used my recently acquired Stampin Up "Happy" stamp with VersaMark ink for the background on Kraft paper, and used some scrap paper from my stash to add some color.  Then used the "Birthday" stamp that came with that bunble of goodies and stamped that across one strip of paper.  Layered it up added a bit of stitching.  Then made some more ballons and colored then in with my blender pen and attached them with some fishing line and rounded all of the corners.  Simple and cute I think...  No Cricut on this card.

Happy Birthday 2U

I loved making this card.  I was given a nice bag of supplies from a friend at work who had bought a bunch of stuff, but never used it.  We are actually doing some trade for it, I am making her some cards and journals to use as gifts in exchange for the bag of goodies...  Little did she tell me before hand that the entire bag was Stampin' Up products!  I can't even begin to tell you how much stuff was in there.... everything from Stamps and ink pads to paper, stickers, brads, scissors, corner rounders, and OMGoodness - so much more!  So this is the first card I made using those products.  All made out of scrap paper though...  The stamped sentiment are all stampin up stamps combined from I believe two different collections.  The balloons...  oh the balloons...  I had to try something... the bag of goodies contained a blender pen, which I just couldn't handle...  I had to use it, I had always wanted one and thought they would be so much fun to use!  So I stamped the balloon and used the Stampin' Up ink pads to color them in on white cardstock.  Then stamped the balloon strings on the card and pop-dotted the cut out balloons to add some dimension.  The scallop is cut from Plantin Schoolbook, and I added some doodling...

Thank You Window Card

Made with a Scrap cut!!!  I cut the scallop with my Cricut a while ago and for the life of me I can't remember which cart it was on....  When I folded the scrap piece of paper in half it was the perfect size for a card, so I just went with it!  I stamped the polkadot pattern with a stamp from Basic Grey, and did a little doodling around the window.  On the inside I used some more scrap paper for the white layer and then another piece of scrap with the same teal color and cut it down to size, rounded the corners, then wrote the sentiment and added some more doodling.

Welcome Lucy

I made this card for a friend at work who had a baby girl last week.  All scrap paper used in this card - here goes...  Create a Critter, with all layers cut and pop-dotted.  The bear pin was a stamp I had in my stash and embossed that image in white all over the pink striped paper to perhaps make it look like that was part of the design on the paper.  I hand-wrote the sentiment and added a piece of ribbon...  done!  This was a fun card to make!!!

Happy Birthday - for my hubby

My husband's Birthday is coming up, on the 23rd, so I made this card for him.  All made out of scrap paper!  I haven't bought anything new in so long... I have too many scraps and need to use them!!!  The paper was a horizontal stripe, so I cut the shape free hand to ensure I had diagonal stripes just to add some interest.  Then took a section of the paper and cut the green-blue-green stripe so break it up a bit and used some chocolate brown cardstock to emboss on and create a scallop edge.  The scallop is from Plantin Schoolbook, and that is it.  Perhaps I need to invest in a scallop edge punch to make it a bit easier!  Some day...  Anywho - the doodling is done in a white gel pen and a chocolate brown pen, and the "to you" is hand-written.

Dragonfly Thank You

I made this card for one of my husband's clients.  The card base is cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More (mirror image feature), and hid a few of the cuts with my Gypsy.  I then welded a couple of Dragonfly shadow images from Gypsy Wanderings into one of the windows on the tag I left.  The Thank You is from Wild Card welded into the window as well.  Then I cut the actual Dragonflies out and the bodies of the lil' critters and cut another Thank You in solid cardstock to layer on top.  I like the way it turned out!

Let One Thousand Flowers Bloom Just for You

I made this card after I heard this quote a while ago, and wanted to make a card to go along with it.  The "bloom" is the stencil feature on Just Because Cards and the tulips are from Create A Critter.  All made from scrap pieces and the rest of the sentiment is hand-written.
